Elevator Speech Portfolio My name is Anthony Rigoni and I am currently an undergraduate student of Saint Xavier University. I am also an art major. In this portfolio that I have made, you will have an inside look at how I created my projects from sketches to digital illustrations. This portfolio serves as a dedication to how hard I worked on my projects using Adobe Illustrator. In addition, you will also get a little behind the scenes look of how I created my portfolio using Adobe InDesign. The first project that I will be talking about is the Idiom Illustration project. To start off, I carefully chose nine idioms and drew them in my sketchbook. I picked the Cat Nap Idiom sketch as my final choice for the Idiom Illustration. I created an outline of my Idiom Illustration using the pen tool and the basic shapes tool on Adobe Illustrator. I also had to make sure that I used less anchor points to create the shapes. After a week of progress, I managed to finish my portfolio. The purpose of the gray areas on each page is to make the reader focus more on the text and images than the design of the portfolio. I have given the text black boxes and colored them white so that the reader will be able to read the text. I have also given the images 3 point borders or more to make the images look nicer. The pages with the table of contents and my introduction have dark gray pages next to them so that the reader wouldn't lose focus on the content. Through the week, I have created five more spreads for my portfolio. This is what the next five page spreads of my portfolio looked like after I finished them. The black boxes are used to make the reader focus on the artwork I have created as well as the descriptions I made. This is the next batch of pages that I have made during this week. It details my progress of the third project. After taking some advice from my teacher, I got rid of the black boxes that surrounded the images and screenshots of my projects. in addition, I have rearranged the images and text so that they would not look awkward for my finished portfolio. 

After taking advice from my teacher once more, I have made a few changes on the letters, as well as changing the colors of the hat brim to make the hat easier to read. I have also shrunk the tie, the gloves and the cane to give the hat more attention. These pictures above are examples of artist portfolios. An artist has to make a portfolio in order to show their credentials. The portfolios that the artists make are also ways for an artist to express themselves. Portfolios are like resumes: An artist has to show how professional he or she can be as well as their past experiences. To start off my portfolio project, I have scrapped my previous idea for a portfolio cover and decided to go with this cover. This features one of the variations for my first project that I have done earlier this semester.  After taking some helpful advice from my teacher, I took the liberty of creating outlines for the letters and ungrouping them so that they will be able to fit into the hat outlines. In addition, I have also added gradients to the objects and lowered the transparency so that the reader will be able to view the words. Thus, this is the final result for my poster. For the front cover of my portfolio, I decided to use one of my illustrations I Mae on Adobe Photoshop during my breaks in between classes.

I have chosen the top hat for this project because the top hat is considered to have an aura of fanciness whenever someone wears it at special occasions such as weddings. The colors that I have chosen for this hat are gray and black. I have also used Arial so that the viewer would be able to read. I have also designed the brim of the hat as well. For the poster, I have chosen the color purple for the background. I chose purple because the color purpose represents royalty and aristocracy. To add a dash of pizzazz, I have also added four-pointed stars so that the viewer would sense a feeling of magic. I have also added a tie, gloves and a cane and arranged them to make a triangular shape. The emphasis is on the hat, cane, gloves, and tie. I made a symmetrical balance for the gloves and the tie. For the purpose of designing the poster, I have added the cane and the gloves to give the poster a ritzy touch. As a result, I drew the cane and the gloves. After I fixed a few mistakes, this is what the designs for the hat, the cane and the gloves currently look like. However, in order to make the words more readable to the viewer, I fixed the color of the top hat's top angle and made the letters look a little brighter. I have also made the sentence for the poster brighter for the viewer to see. I have also decided to add in a tie like the one pictured above. And this is the result after drawing the tie. With the addition of the tie, this is the current result of the poster that I worked on for the project. After listening to my teacher's lecture, I manipulated the letters in my top hat design and in the sentence of my poster. I have also changed the sentence in order to make sense to the viewer.
