Portfolio Progression

Through the week, I have created five more spreads for my portfolio. This is what the next five page spreads of my portfolio looked like after I finished them. The black boxes are used to make the reader focus on the artwork I have created as well as the descriptions I made.
This is the next batch of pages that I have made during this week. It details my progress of the third project.

After taking some advice from my teacher, I got rid of the black boxes that surrounded the images and screenshots of my projects. in addition, I have rearranged the images and text so that they would not look awkward for my finished portfolio.

I made these drawings with pen on paper. First, I went crazy with the scribbles. Second, I draw my avatar in the scribble-like scenery. Finally, I've added some more detail to the scenery. The color for these drawings is monochrome. The cross hatchings of the lines in each drawing are for making the objects darker in appearance. My avatar is drawn with organic lines. The village has a symmetrical balance since it is divided by the valley. The texture for the grass in the third drawing is soft. Selfies and the Difference Between Selfies and Self-Portraits

A selfie is a self-portrait photo taken with a smartphone to share on social network sites. A self-portrait is an artist's portrait made by the very same artist. This self-portrait was done by Albrecht Durer in 1500. It shows Durer wearing a fancy coat with a fur collar. It was made with oil on linen wood. Durer made this self-portrait to portray himself as a religious figure. This self-portrait was done by Frida Kahlo in 1940. Frida Kahlo paints herself with her hair cropped. This self-portrait was made with oil on canvas. Frida Kahlo painted this self-portrait because she wanted to stand out amongst female artists of her time. This self portrait was painted by Henri Matisse in 1906. It shows Matisse wearing a striped T-shirt. It was also made with oil on canvas. 2D Week 1: Project 1 Progression

For this composition, I chose circles as my shapes. After I drew the circles with my pencil, I used scissors to cut out the circles. I then used a glue stick to stick the circles onto my Bristol paper. The composition is called A Stream of Bubbles . The direction of the bubbles is diagonal. There are negative spaces surround the bubbles. I chose this technique to give the viewer an impression to imagine themselves underwater. What I was going for in this piece is to have the circles represent water in order to make the viewer feel like they are breathing underwater. I repeated the same technique I used for my first composition using the pencil, scissors, Bristol paper, and glue stick. I also used a ruler to measure the shapes to make sure they are the exact same size. This time, the shapes are pentagons, circles, squares, octagons, and triangles.
