Project 3 Progression


For the purpose of designing the poster, I have added the cane and the gloves to give the poster a ritzy touch.

As a result, I drew the cane and the gloves.
After I fixed a few mistakes, this is what the designs for the hat, the cane and the gloves currently look like.
However, in order to make the words more readable to the viewer, I fixed the color of the top hat's top angle and made the letters look a little brighter.
I have also made the sentence for the poster brighter for the viewer to see.
I have also decided to add in a tie like the one pictured above.
And this is the result after drawing the tie.
With the addition of the tie, this is the current result of the poster that I worked on for the project.


After listening to my teacher's lecture, I manipulated the letters in my top hat design and in the sentence of my poster. I have also changed the sentence in order to make sense to the viewer.
To give the poster a little more pizazz, I added four-pointed stars in the poster. The purpose of adding the four-pointed stars is to give the poster a glittering effect.

After taking advice from my teacher, I made a significant change on the hat drawing as well as the poster.

Selfies and the Difference Between Selfies and Self-Portraits

A selfie is a self-portrait photo taken with a smartphone to share on social network sites. A self-portrait is an artist's portrait made by the very same artist. This self-portrait was done by Albrecht Durer in 1500. It shows Durer wearing a fancy coat with a fur collar. It was made with oil on linen wood. Durer made this self-portrait to portray himself as a religious figure. This self-portrait was done by Frida Kahlo in 1940. Frida Kahlo paints herself with her hair cropped. This self-portrait was made with oil on canvas. Frida Kahlo painted this self-portrait because she wanted to stand out amongst female artists of her time. 2D Week 1: Project 1 Progression

For this composition, I chose circles as my shapes. After I drew the circles with my pencil, I used scissors to cut out the circles. I then used a glue stick to stick the circles onto my Bristol paper. The composition is called A Stream of Bubbles . The direction of the bubbles is diagonal. There are negative spaces surround the bubbles. I chose this technique to give the viewer an impression to imagine themselves underwater. What I was going for in this piece is to have the circles represent water in order to make the viewer feel like they are breathing underwater. I repeated the same technique I used for my first composition using the pencil, scissors, Bristol paper, and glue stick. I also used a ruler to measure the shapes to make sure they are the exact same size. This time, the shapes are pentagons, circles, squares, octagons, and triangles.
