Idiom Project Progress: Sketches and Outline Progress

During last Tuesday, I started making sketches based on nine idioms in my sketchbook. Then, I choose two of the sketches and made two full sized sketches. My class approved the Cat Nap sketch, so I got to work on the digital outline.

This is a reference for the cat's colors I will use for my digital Idiom project.
First, I got started with making the title for the idiom project. I used simple shapes to get the job done.

And this is kinda like the first step to my drawing. I had some difficulty with the body and the arms until I learn that fewer anchor points help make the body.

And this is my project in its current state. I have to admit, I'm starting to get the hang of using the pen tool as well as the simple shapes and process of send items back and forth. I also learned that using the pathfinder tool makes things easier for me to connect the shapes. I hope to bring this project to color soon.

I made this piece using a pencil, a pen and paper. First, I drew the picture using a pencil. Then I traced the pencil drawing with ink. Finally, I added some detail to the background. The mechanical lines are seen on the floor and walls. I added organic lines for the hero and the killer wielding the knife. The color is monotone. The focus is on the knife wielding villain and the hero. The crosshatching for the shadows are used to make them look like the scene is taken place in a lit room. Self Portrait Project Progress Cover and Profile Arts

These are the color variations for my profile art These are the references for the cover art that I am making for the project. And this is the cover art I will have for my project. The purpose of this cover art is to help the viewer reflex. It may also give the viewer a peace of mind while they are thinking happy thoughts. After being given some helpful advice from my teacher, I made a few tweaks on these color variations of my profile picture. And I also made the clouds a little lighter since I was told that they looked like rain clouds in my cover art. These are the color variations of my cover art. And this is the final result of my profile and cover art.

Adventures of Tony the Yorkie Silky

I made these drawings with pen on paper. First, I went crazy with the scribbles. Second, I draw my avatar in the scribble-like scenery. Finally, I've added some more detail to the scenery. The color for these drawings is monochrome. The cross hatchings of the lines in each drawing are for making the objects darker in appearance. My avatar is drawn with organic lines. The village has a symmetrical balance since it is divided by the valley. The texture for the grass in the third drawing is soft. The purpose of this series of drawings, Adventures of Tony the Yorkie Silky , is to introduce the viewers to my avatar, Tony the Yorkie Silky.
