2D Week 6 Figure Ground

For this piece, the lines are mechanical. I gave the shapes a rectangular look. The balance for the composition is symmetrical.

The piece I created is called Gears in Motion. The purpose of this piece is to create an illusion to confuse the viewer. While the viewer is looking at the figure, which are the black shapes, they might also be looking at the white background, which is the ground.

I made these drawings with pen on paper. First, I went crazy with the scribbles. Second, I draw my avatar in the scribble-like scenery. Finally, I've added some more detail to the scenery. The color for these drawings is monochrome. The cross hatchings of the lines in each drawing are for making the objects darker in appearance. My avatar is drawn with organic lines. The village has a symmetrical balance since it is divided by the valley. The texture for the grass in the third drawing is soft. The techniques I used for this art piece is cross-hatching, scribbling, and shading. I used pencils to make the values of this piece. I used a ruler to draw the vertical and horizontal border lines in this piece. The gradience of the drawing go from black to white and visa versa.

A selfie is a self-portrait photo taken with a smartphone to share on social network sites. A self-portrait is an artist's portrait made by the very same artist. This self-portrait was done by Albrecht Durer in 1500. It shows Durer wearing a fancy coat with a fur collar. It was made with oil on linen wood.
