2D Week 4: Line Project and Figure Ground

For this project, I used a marker, a ruler, an x-acto knife, scissors, glue, and paper. First, I measured the white paper to make them look like 5x5 inch squares. Second, I cut the white paper out using an x-acto knife. Third, I used a ruler to draw dashed lines. Fourth, I arranged the drawings to make a U-shape. Finally, I used a pair of sscissors to cut some of the black paper off and glue the white squares with a glue stick.

The composition, Direction in Confusion, uses dash lines to represent the steps of one's direction. As the art piece progresses, it leaves the viewer with a sense of confused. The composition forms a U-shape.

Figure Ground: Connects images by difference of images from where they stand out.
