2D Week 1: Project 1 Progression

I repeated the same technique I used for my first composition using the pencil, scissors, Bristol paper, and glue stick. I also used a ruler to measure the shapes to make sure they are the exact same size. This time, the shapes are pentagons, circles, squares, octagons, and triangles. There is a symmetrical balance on the left and right sides of the composition. The composition is called At the Ballgame. I chose to arrange the composition because I want the viewer to imagine that they are at a ballgame and are cheering for their favorite baseball time. My original purpose was to have the shapes represent the players of each baseball time and the squares as the audience, making the viewer feel like they are at a baseball game.
For my last composition, I repeated the glue stick, paper, pencil, ruler, and scissors technique I used for the other two compositions. The shapes are octagons, pentagons, circles, rectangles, squares, and triangles. There negative spaces in between the "trees", "stop sign" and "building". The three triangles at the top form a triangular shape when together. I call this composition Sunday Near the Church. The focal points are the "church" and the triangles at the top because the triangles represent the holy trinity and the church is a place of worship, giving the composition a divine aura among the strangeness going on. My original purpose of this composition was to make the viewer feel like they are receiving divine intervention amid the chaos going in the their life.
Looking good so far Anthony! Cannot wait to see them in class tomorrow!
