Portfolio Progression 2 and Elevator Speech Preview







After a week of progress, I managed to finish my portfolio. The purpose of the gray areas on each page is to make the reader focus more on the text and images than the design of the portfolio. I have given the text black boxes and colored them white so that the reader will be able to read the text. I have also given the images 3 point borders or more to make the images look nicer. The pages with the table of contents and my introduction have dark gray pages next to them so that the reader wouldn't lose focus on the content.

Elevator Speech Preview

My name is Anthony Rigoni and I am currently an undergraduate student of Saint Xavier University. In this portfolio that I have made, you will have an inside look at how I created my projects from sketches to digital illustrations. This portfolio serves as a dedication to how hard I worked on my projects using Adobe Illustration. In addition, you will also get a little behind the scenes look of how I created my portfolio using Adobe InDesign. I certainly hope you will enjoy reading this portfolio as I enjoyed working on my projects during this semester.

I made these drawings with pen on paper. First, I went crazy with the scribbles. Second, I draw my avatar in the scribble-like scenery. Finally, I've added some more detail to the scenery. The color for these drawings is monochrome. The cross hatchings of the lines in each drawing are for making the objects darker in appearance. My avatar is drawn with organic lines. Week 9: Values

The techniques I used for this art piece is cross-hatching, scribbling, and shading. I used pencils to make the values of this piece. I used a ruler to draw the vertical and horizontal border lines in this piece. The gradience of the drawing go from black to white and visa versa.

Selfies and the Difference Between Selfies and Self-Portraits

A selfie is a self-portrait photo taken with a smartphone to share on social network sites. A self-portrait is an artist's portrait made by the very same artist. This self-portrait was done by Albrecht Durer in 1500. It shows Durer wearing a fancy coat with a fur collar. It was made with oil on linen wood. Durer made this self-portrait to portray himself as a religious figure. This self-portrait was done by Frida Kahlo in 1940. Frida Kahlo paints herself with her hair cropped. This self-portrait was made with oil on canvas. Frida Kahlo painted this self-portrait because she wanted to stand out amongst female artists of her time.
