Mosaic

I created this mosaic using pictures I made over the weekend, two of my old pictures, ink pen, scissors, glue, colored pencils, and drawing paper. First, I used pen and pencil to draw the drawings I made over the weekend. Second, I cut out the old drawings I have made over the semester. Third,  I color the drawings I made. Fourth, I cut out parts of the drawings I made over the weekend. Fifth, I glued the parts of my drawings on the paper. Finally, I added new drawings using a pen and colored the drawings.

The center focus of the mosaic is the caricature of my late aunt. The balance I made is intentionally asymmetrical. The colors have a mixture since they are cut out from the drawings I have created. There are patterns seen on the moon, the eight-sided star, the clock, the computer, the pencil, the boy, and the dog as well as the repetition, as the colors are repeated on the aforementioned drawings. Most of the drawings I cut out consist mostly of organic lines.

The mosaic I created is to pay further tribute to my late aunt who passed away a few weeks ago. This mosaic will allow the viewer to follow the relationship I had with my late aunt when she was alive. Looking at the piece makes feel sad that my aunt passed away. This mosaic can also make the viewer give the artist sympathy.
