Bonus: Murakami

The art piece I saw at the Museum of Modern Contemporary Art made by Takashi Murakami was painted in 2006. The painting was called And Then And Then Rust Red. It was made on an offset lithograph. The original copy of the painting was 19 by 19 inches.

The predominant color for Murakami's painting is red. The character's teeth in the painting has noticeably mechanical lines. Most of the shapes used to design the character are circular, with the exception of the character's smile and the letters on the character's ears. The balance with the character's ears are symmetrical. The texture appears to look somewhat shiny. For the form, the character's ears and face appear to be two-dimensional. The repetition is noticeable when looking at the character's teeth.

The purpose of Murakami's And Then And Then Rust Red is the fill the viewer with hope while introducing Mr. Dob, Murakami's avatar. When I looked at the painting, I felt an aura of positivity in my mind. The idea of the painting gives out a thought that even though we have faced difficult challenges, we can always look on the bright side. The painting appears to have a happy and hopeful mood into it.
