Exquisite Corpse Drawing

Image
I made this exquisite corpse drawing with my mother and aunt via ink pen and paper. First, my aunt Margaret drew the head for ten minutes. Second, my mother drew the body for ten minutes. Lastly, I drew the legs for ten minutes. Altogether, the three of us got this drawing done in a half hour. The body in this exquisite corpse drawing has an almost symmetrical composition, especially the arms. The body, however, is given a disproportioned look due to the legs. The color has a monochrome tone. The body has mostly organic lines. The pattern seen on the pants have circles. The texture for the hair is smooth. The purpose of this exquisite corpse drawing to give a more comical feeling to the viewer. While the woman is shown to be humanlike, she is given animal paws to substitute as feet. It should relate to the younger crowd because people might have an inner animal instinct. I feel that this is one of these drawings where we can all look back and laugh.

Mini Series

Image
I made these drawings, The Folks of Japanese Folklore, on paper and the tool that I used for drawing is an ink pen. First, I start by drawing each character. Then I drew the landscape. Finally, I added texture to the mountainous landscape, as well as adding clouds and the sun. I have made the characters the focus in each drawing. The monochrome choice of color gives most of the characters a more classical feeling. The cross-hatching of the mountains gives the mountains some texture. The maiden I have featured in the second drawing was based on a Chinese doll my grandparents had. In the last drawing of my mini-series, there are lines acting as if they are giving the old Kitsune sage a kind of aura. The lines for the characters featured in each drawing have organic lines. The mountains in the sixth drawing have a symmetrical balance. The mountains in the third drawing form different senses of repetition in each mountain chain. The purpose of the mini-serie...

Scribbles

Image
I made these scribbles using an ink pen and notebook paper. First, I spent 20 minutes drawing while not looking at the paper. Second, I spent 20 more minutes drawing out what I was visualizing. Finally, I spent the last 20 minutes giving a more detailed picture for each scribble. I have also marked down the dates for each sketch every day. Most of the lines I have drawn have contour lines. Some of the objects I have drawn have organic lines for the people, structures and landmarks. I have also given each drawing monochromic colors. The buildings in my last scribble have near geometric shapes. There are also some messages I made on some pictures, include the phrase "I'm here", to represent Jesus' twelve apostles.  The mountains in the seventh drawing have an asymmetrical balance. The dark contrast is noticeable in the fourth and fifth drawings. The first piece I made, A Surrealist's Fairy Tale, pays a tribute to famous surreal artists l...

Special Edition - Sottile

Image
Sotille designed this piece, Brownie Girl Scout Badge, through metal-smithing. The piece is 4.5'' L * 3.75'' W * 0.5 H''. The materials Sotille used for this piece are Copper brass, fine silver and flocking. The found items that she used are a girl scout pin and a brownie pin. The triangular shape of the brownie pin is much of the focus of the Brownie Girl Scout Badge. There is also a hint of vintage involving the Brownie pin. The mechanical lines are present on the brownie pin and the outside part of the girl scout pin. There's also a wooden texture on both pins. The purpose of the Brownie Girl Scout Badge is to bring attention to the research Sotille has done. According to Sotille, the Brownies are small, magical creatures like pixies and elves. The Brownie Girl Scout Badge fills me with curiosity about the Brownies. This piece will introduce viewers to what the brownies are.

Story(From Me)(True) by Anthony Rigoni

Image
I made this piece with GIMP. First, I drew the lines using the pencil tool. Then, I place one of the characters in the door using the select tool. I used the paint bucket tool to color the picture. I used the pattern fill tool to color the floor and the walls. Finally, I colorized the picture to make the picture look dark and blue. The colorization of blue is a representation of a cool color. It also gives out an emotion of sadness and despair. The lines used for the walls, coffin, door, and floor are mechanical. The coffin also has a perspective to give the viewer a feeling that they are standing next to the coffin. The characters have organic lines. There is a large space separating the characters. The coffin and the doorway have rectangular shapes. The piece I created, Visting Grandpa’s Wake or the Last Goodbye , is about how I went to my grandfather’s funeral. A few months ago, my grandfather died after seven cardiac arrests. My family and I went to the funeral out in Sav...
