2D Week 1: Project 1 Progression
For this composition, I chose circles as my shapes. After I drew the circles with my pencil, I used scissors to cut out the circles. I then used a glue stick to stick the circles onto my Bristol paper. The composition is called A Stream of Bubbles . The direction of the bubbles is diagonal. There are negative spaces surround the bubbles. I chose this technique to give the viewer an impression to imagine themselves underwater. What I was going for in this piece is to have the circles represent water in order to make the viewer feel like they are breathing underwater. I repeated the same technique I used for my first composition using the pencil, scissors, Bristol paper, and glue stick. I also used a ruler to measure the shapes to make sure they are the exact same size. This time, the shapes are pentagons, circles, squares, octagons, and triangles.
